Looking for an alternative to Easy Pose? You are not alone, in this article we will go over 8 reasons why artists are switching to PoseMyArt.

In my experience, 3D model posers have become an invaluable resource for artists. They save time by providing the exact pose reference you need, instead of having to spend hours scouring the web for a pose reference photo that almost works.

With this in mind, I’ve created PoseMyArt to provide a better, faster and more complete workflow than many other posers available in the market, especially those that started life as mobile-first apps.

Before we get to it, the reason PoseMyArt is the best model poser in the market today is that we are actively listening to feedback from artists all the time. If you have any feedback, please contact us.

Let’s go, 8 reasons why artists are switching from Easy Pose to PoseMyArt.

1. The Unmatched Premade Scenes Library

To save time and effort, we have created a huge premade scenes library of over 4800+ scenes.

The library saves time for artists by providing inspiration and loading premade scenes avoid the tedious task of manually posing the models (which is a time-consuming task no matter what 3d posing tool you’re using)

PoseMyArt's Premade Scene Library

The library is available in the app, with a search bar to find whatever you’re looking for. You can also use our pose reference library at the site, but in feel like it’s much more comfortable to use it in the app. PoseMyArt's Premade Scenes Library From the Site Open the scenes to see them in different angles, adjust the light and edit the scene to your liking. The fast adjustability of the scenes is what makes this such an invaluable resource for artists. You get 90% to where you want, then adjust the angles and poses.

Practice drawing the pose gestures (line of action) with our quick poses tool, which uses the same premade scenes library for practice. Mastering drawing poses will help a lot with your figure drawing and with your character creation.

I haven’t seen any other model poser in the market with a library as good with such a big variety as ours.

2. PoseMyArt Works on Everything (Cross Platform)

Easy Pose has a mobile version and a desktop version (doesn’t support linux) that you have to install. Easy Pose’s mobile and desktop app lacks compatibility, while PoseMyArt works on everything without any installation.

PoseMyArt is browser-based, which means you get the full, high-quality desktop experience on Windows, Mac, Linux and all tablets and mobile devices. We made sure to support every device no matter what the screen size is.

See our download page for instructions on how to install the app.

3. The Premade Poses Library and Animations Library

Our huge premade poses library of over 5800+ poses let’s you skip manually posing the models and instantly load a pose instead. In contrast, Easy Pose’s pose library is much more limited.

Posing with any 3D model poser is hard work. It takes a lot of time to get right. For that reason we have created the premade poses library, where you can search for any of our professionally made poses to save a lot of time and effort.

The library is available in the app, with images so you can scroll, search and see the poses for yourself before loading them (this is a great way to get inspiration for your drawings and scenes).

We also have our library of 2400+ motion captured animations, where you can stop the animation on every frame to find natural and dynamic poses.

Here is a pose I made by sopping a falling animation on a specific frame, look how natural this pose looks. This kind of natural and dynamic poses are very hard to create by only manually posing the models. PoseMyArt's Premade Animations Stopped on specific frame

4. PoseMyArt’s Superior Model Quality and Realism

PoseMyArt models are of higher quality and the model’s variety is bigger. We actively listen to models requests from our users, for that reason our models are better than any other app in the market right now.

Our wide variety of models range from realistic, anime, animals, stylized and basic shapes. We offer a bigger variety of models in our free tier than any other app I know of.

Working on understanding the underlying shapes of a pose? Use our basic shapes models which shows the 3 major shapes of the body (hip, torso and head).

Use the change model feature to replace the current model with the basic shapes models to see the major big shapes of a pose and study their volume. This feature is something I haven’t seen on any other 3D model poser app and users of PoseMyArt really love it.

Here is the same falling pose I created earlier, you can see how changing to a basic shapes model simplified the three major shapes and how it is easier to understand the pose this way. Basic Shapes Model Falling Pose

We continue to add models all the time, so if you have a model in mind that you’re missing in the app contact us and we will see if we can add the model for you.

5. Easy to use and Intuitive Interface

While Easy Pose uses forward kinematics (rotate each bone) to control the pose, it lacks inverse kinematics (drag the limbs), making it difficult to pose. In contrast, with PoseMyArt you can use forward kinematics and inverse kinematics, making it much easier and simpler to pose.

I designed PoseMyArt to be as simple and intuitive as I can. We are always talking to our users to see where we can improve.

Use inverse kinematics by dragging the gray boxes. Use forward kinematics by clicking on the rotation spheres and rotate in each axis. Rotate in all axis by dragging the white sphere in the middle. Learn more on how to use PoseMyArt on our Ultimate PoseMyArt Toolkit blog post.

Here is how the Inverse Kinematics looks like in the app: PoseMyArt's Inverse Kinematics Example

And here is how forward kinematics looks in the app: PoseMyArt's Forward Kinematics Example

Quickly Cycle between the posing modes (rotate, move, scale) by just clicking on the model. We developed this feature to make the artists workflow much smoother and easier.

6. Big Props Library

PoseMyArt supplies a wider variety of props, that is not available in other posing apps. Easy Pose props library is much more limited in comparison to ours.

Our big library of props saves countless hours for artists looking to complete their pose reference with some props and backgrounds. PoseMyArt's Props Library The props library combined with the save camera positions feature improves the workflow of users who storyboard (especially comics and manga artists) and saves a lot of time.

7. Everything in one go, no DLC content

Easy Pose sells DLC content for extra models and props (kind of extra packages), while PoseMyArt you get everything when you subscribe (or buy the lifetime deal).

I feel like selling DLC content is an unprofessional behavior that fits more for a mobile app or a mobile game than a professional tool for artists.

I do understand how it can benefit the user to buy only the package they are looking for, but I still feel it’s unprofessional.

For the same reason we don’t have ads in PoseMyArt while other apps does, I believe it’s unprofessional and not suited for professional workflow.

8. Advanced Features

PoseMyArt provides professional tools, to streamline workflows, that are simply not available in more basic posing apps.

Some of the features PoseMyArt offers are:

  • More Realistic Models
  • Big Animations Library
  • Huge Premade Scene Library
  • Advanced Export Options
  • Quickly Copy and Pasting Poses (While both can save custom poses)
  • Saving Camera Positions (Great for comics and camera creators)
  • Basic Shapes Models (To understand the figures better)
  • Huge Props Library

I can add more features to the list, but I feel like it’s enough to demonstrate that PoseMyArt is much more advanced and complete solution than other basic 3D model posers.

In Conclusion

In this post, I’ve shown why I believe PoseMyArt is a best alternative to Easy Pose. I might be biased since I’m the creator of PoseMyArt, but it’s that firsthand experience that makes me confident PoseMyArt is better suited for artists to improve their workflow.

Give the app a try to see for yourself, you shouldn’t just believe what I say. I think you’ll find the reasons I’ve shown here to be true and see why PoseMyArt is the best posing tool in the market right now.

If you lack the time, take a quick look at our features page to see the features without opening the app.

I hope PoseMyArt will help you in your art journey! Roy (:
