Looking for an alternative to JustSketchMe? In this article we will go over 7 reasons why artists are switching from JustSketchMe to PoseMyArt.
3D model posers have become an essential tool for artists to save time for their work, since having the right reference can be the difference between a good and a bad drawing.
Seeing what model posers are available in the market, I’ve created PoseMyArt to provide better workflow that makes more sense than what is present.
Before we get to it, the reason PoseMyArt is the best model poser in the market today is that we listen to feedback from artists all the time, so if you have any feedback please contact us.
Here we go, 7 reasons why artists are switching from JustSketchMe to PoseMyArt.
The PoseMyArt Advantage: Over 4800+ Premade Scenes. Unlike simpler posing tools, PoseMyArt provides an extensive library of over 4800+ full scenes, saving you the countless hours of manually setting up props and figures.
Since you can scroll the library in the app itself, look for the reference you need and then adjust the pose or angle you can find inspiration in a matter of seconds and save a lot of time since you’re not posing a model from scratch.

The pose reference library is also available at the site, providing an easy and fast way to find pose reference without opening the app, but I feel like it’s much more comfortable to use it in the app.
You can open each scene from the library inside PoseMyArt to see the scene in different angles, adjust the light and edit the scene to your liking - This feature by itself is such an invaluable resource for artists.
You can use our quick poses tool, which uses the premade scenes library as a base, to practice drawing the pose gesture (line of action), and again, open the scene in PoseMyArt to edit and play with. This tool alone can help you a lot to master drawing poses, figure drawing and character creation (Once you master drawing poses better).
JustSkechMe doesn’t have a premade scenes library. In fact, there is no other model poser in the market with a library this huge and as comfortable to use as PoseMyArt’s.
JustSketchMe’s poses library is much more limited than PoseMyArt’s, which has over 5800+ premade poses, making it a huge time saver. It could possibly change your workflow forever.
In any poser app, getting the model to do the right pose, which looks natural and dynamic, is hard. That is exactly why we created our amazing premade poses library. You can instantly find a pose that fits your scene, adjust it a little and carry on to do the things that matter (like actually drawing).

We also have our library of 2400+ motion captured animations to which you can use to find a natural and dynamic poses by stopping the animation on any frame.
JustSketchMe does not have an animations library, while PoseMyArt has a big library of over 2400+ animations.
Instead of posing, which can take a lot of time and eventually could look unnatural, you can use a motion captured animation, which by definition will look more natural.

JustSketchMe’s models library is very limited while PoseMyArt’s has a bigger variety of models and the models quality is higher.
Our models are better than any other app since we actively listen to model requests from our users.
Our models has a wide variety, ranging from realistic, anime, animals, stylized to basic shapes. We offer a bigger variety of models in our free tier than any other app I know of.
Are you working on understanding the underlying shapes of a pose? you can use our basic shape models which shows the 3 major shapes of the body (hip, torso and head).
Another feature PoseMyArt has that JustSketchMe does not is the change model feature that takes any pose of any model and replaces the model with whatever model you’d like. You can use this feature to change the model to a basic shape model to see the major big shapes.
This feature is something I haven’t seen on any other 3D model poser app and users of PoseMyArtreally love it.

We continue to add models all the time. If you’ve got a model request to add to the app, contact us and we will see if we can add the model for you.
JustSketchMe’s props library is limited while PoseMyArt has a bigger variety of props.
PoseMyArt’s props library is easily available in the app, with images (JustSketchMe doesn’t have images), making the workflow with it a lot more smooth. You can also use the search feature to find the exact props you’re looking for.

We continue to add props all the time, so if you’ve got a prop request, be sure to contact us.
PoseMyArt’s hand poses library has a bigger variety than JustSketchMe’s.
Our hand poses library is available in the app, with images (JustSketchMe doesn’t have images), to make choosing a hand pose a breeze. Quickly look for the hand pose you need, click the image and adjust it if you want.

JustSketchMe is limited in the ways you can pose your model, while PoseMyArt has a wider variety of posing option, like Inverse Kinematics and Forward Kinematics.
We are always talking to our users to see where we can improve, I designed PoseMyArt to be as simple and intuitive as I can.
While in JustSketchMe you can use forward kinematics to rotate the bones of the model, with PoseMyArt you can use forward kinematics and inverse kinematics (drag limbs), making it much easier to pose the model.
You can use inverse kinematics by dragging the gray boxes. To use forward kinematics, click on the rotation spheres and rotate in each axis you want. You can also rotate in all axis by dragging the white sphere in the middle. Learn more on how to use PoseMyArt on our Ultimate PoseMyArt Toolkit blog post.

To quickly cycle between posing modes (rotate, move, scale) you can just click on the model multiple times. We developed this feature to make the artists workflow much easier.
Essential Features for Professional Workflows. PoseMyArt includes several advanced features that streamline professional workflows, providing tools that are simply not available in more basic posing apps.
Some of the features PoseMyArt offers that JustSketchMe doesn’t are:
I could continue to add to this list, but the preceding features demonstrate that PoseMyArt offers a significantly more advanced and complete solution than JustSketchMe and other basic 3D model posers.
The features detailed in this post clearly show why PoseMyArt is a superior and more time-saving alternative to JustSketchMe.
While I might be biased since I’m the creator of PoseMyArt, I think the reasons I’ve shown in this post are quite compelling.
Don’t believe me? Give the app a try to see for yourself, I think you’ll immediately understand why PoseMyArt is the best alternative to JustSketchMe and the best posing tool there is on the market right now.
I hope PoseMyArt will help you in your art journey! Roy (:
